seas.
life starts again.
in the sea of life, you are in a lone floating boat, in the middle of the vast ocean. unprotected from the storms that may come. surrounded a liquid desert, arid to man and no one else. every wave is a soft reminder that calm is no certain in a world where change is the only constant. the taste of saltwater lingers in your mouth, drying it and leaving a salty aftertaste - a stern reminder of thirst and dehydration. the scavengers circle above, waiting for the precious moment when life leaves you, and you become nothing more than a life sustaining meal. sharks wait patiently for the instant when you tip out of your boat, to add some variety to their otherwise saline meals.
but amidst all this dangers and turmoils, you, the person in the boat have one protection from all this danger, all this suffering.
you have the boat.
it is your haven, your small solace, your lone redemption. it is the great divide between the deep blue sea and you. it is your turtle shell, your fortress, your castle.
you have the heavens.
it rains life from above, sustaining you, giving you that one more precious day to live. one more chance to find an island, a salvation, an escape.
but in this whole battle for life, this fight of survival in this cruel world, we realise one thing.
life is fragile. it is nothing more than an entity, vulnerable to the elements. vulnerable to the sea. vulnerable to the heavens. it can be taken even easier than it is given.
so everyday that you have, be thankful that you have that boat. whatever it may represent to you - love, God, etc. - it is something that you yourself can be thankful for. so dont take it for granted.
