gifts.
some were born with greatness, some had greatness thrust onto them, while other have to work for greatness.
of all 3, i would say that i personally admire the last. i believe that in life, everyone had the same degree of talents and abilities. but its just whether you discover your talents and abilities and use it to its full potential. without a doubt, the heros of our lives are people who started off as ordinary average-joes and found their calling - their passion. they then used their passion as their energy to work their way up the ranks.
for example, lance armstrong never started out at the top. he was an average kid. his dad left him when he was young, and it wasnt easy getting through life and growing up without the father figure in the life. but nonetheless he found his niche, and honed his abilities, to become the greatest cyclist up till now. he has never ceased to amaze, shock and awe people with his abilities on the road. no doubt he has certain gifts that he was born with, but if he didnt search and find these gifts, they may have ended up untouched, and unused.
but at the end of the day,
there is no achievement without hardship.
there is no mountain peak to conquer without the mountain.
there is no victor without a fight.
so how are you going to write your destiny?
