ooooooh.

you can't make everyone happy.

its true, admit it.

i used to think that we can pass life simply, with not much worry and consideration of the 'complex' world. that there are such things as carefree people, and that we can always fight for WHATEVER we deem true.

but the sad truth is that we, really, honestly, can't. we can't because of the predicament that society has put us into. a predicament whereby we depend to greatly on things that we grow up wanting to distance ourselves from. take for example, money.

yes, its a shallow and materialistic quantity. but its something that every kid grows up hating to love. theres something in every kid that says, "hey, when i grow up, i don't want to depend on money because i won't let it be a major priority in my life".

but the truth is,

we can't stay kids all our lives.

at some point or rather, we need to grow up, and grow up, we (most of us) do.

as disappointing as it seems, that growing up process involves accepting that there are things we cannot hold true to ourselves for. things that aren't worth fighting because theres something bigger, that is more intrinsically satiating.

people change, because change is the only constant in this world. and if we are going to be stubborn and inflexible, we'll never learn to adapt, and to survive. and at the same time we can't insist that others do as ourselves because everyone's got their own paths, their own perspectives, and their own choices in life.
